A little freebie to ease me into colouring softly a little better. I think I overextended myself by trying lineless again without proper solidity to my artwork. One step at a time, Aya. ^^
Anyway, I have been very very tentative with my colour with this new style, and the lack of contrast has left my last few headshots and such wanting and very very pale.
Boring is no good. So I winced, picked a dark teal, and about cried when I put it to the lovely skintone I had laid down. But as I worked with it, I found I REALLY liked what it did for the depth of the portrait, and I'll certainly be doing this again, perhaps with more than one colour!
>.> Pay no mind to the hair. Just showing a little progress before I tackle the monumental reordering and tossing of a great deal of my old artwork. It's time to start fresh, and just keep a few pieces to smile back on for their embarrassing effect.
Thanks for looking, and feel free to comment! Any help is always welcome and well-received! <3
Daww. It looks so pretty. I must say though, trying those new tones for skin looks great. I find it amazing how colours that you wouldn't think would work as skin shading can turn out looking so accurate.
I love this lineart. The thicks and thins look great. Reminds me of the lines done using flash. *w*
OxO The teal looks AMAZING on her skin tone. And it ties in with her hair, too. You'd never really think to use TEAL as a skin tone shadow, but the way you did it was just pulled off perfectly. Plus, it goes well with her hair, and the shadow on the eyes makes her look as if she's wearing just a little makeup as well. Amazing job, love. ^^
Oh, wow, hon. This looks really amazing--I like it a lot better than your previous coloring style. It really, really adds something to the art, makes it more somehow. <3<3 Definitely keep playing with it.
